WORKING MAGIC

Although dragons are very impressive natural fighting machines they are also magical creatures with a command over the forces of the natural and the supernatural. In “The I of the Dragon“ there are more than 60 individual spells with special effects available to each dragon.

Which spells a dragon uses depends very much on the dragon’s talent for magic and how much space (spell slots) you have available for spells.

To use magic, a dragon needs mana or magical energy. The mana flow can only be activated when a spell is seen in a spell slot. You have a maximum of 12 spell slots to hand and others, which are interchangeable in your dragon's inventory and can be activated through drag and drop to or from a spell slot.

As the game opens, you have only one spell slot, but the number increases as you collect green, red and blue crystals from above some of the lairs you destroy. For five of each colored stone you get an additional slot more fire power or some other bonuses. Later in the game more spell slots and additional weapons are won by solving some difficult tasks.

The mana inflow can be individually increased depending on your dragon’s level of experience. You receive experience points by every level up and you are free to divide these between other dragon properties and spells. The higher the inflow rate the faster spells recharge.

The mana inflow rate can also be accelerated by collecting blue crystals. For every five of these stones you awarded mana points.

Whether your dragon has the ability to find task related objects or to summon a swarm of fighting insects, to conjure zombies or place an erupting volcano under the feet of your foes. Hurl meteors and fireballs, burning rocks or clouds of poison, teleport or heal yourself all depends on the dragon you choose and your flight and combat skills...
